It’s always good to get a chance to go outside my comfort zone. This day was all about that. I wanted to try a new technique, shoot sports, and do pre-thought-out, lit action shots. All things that I don’t get complete control over/ haven’t tried before in a typical wedding setting. I am super happy with the results from a first time standpoint and I can’t wait to keep developing my lighting skills in action situations. In the next few days I am going to turn my apartment into a lighting studio al la Strobist, have some serious fun taking some self portraits. My friend Jacob and I went out with my friend Steve. Steve and I have been friends since the day I was born, I was blessed to have him be a huge part of my wedding ceremony as one of my best men. These photos are in a way a thank you to how great of a friend Steve is. He has always been there, I can’t wait to see how we grow as men, husbands, and (someday) fathers together.
Steve is a super active guy who is incredibly gifted with athleticism. Me, I’m a fumbling buffoon. But it gave me a sweet chance to make some photos of him, we both got to do what we love. For all the times, you circled the boat around as I fell over wake boarding, thanks for being such a great friend Steve.
Which photo do you like the best? It’s all new to me so I’m open to criticism and critique!
